SpecifyWeb Client Peek

Specify Web Client

A discussion topic often raised by collections researchers is on the possibility of creating a Specify web client. Specify operating within a web browser would open up possibilities for database hosting, and for collaborative cataloging across institutions into a shared database. In addition to supporting networked database collaborations, a Specify web client would enable digitization centers to support regional museums and herbaria by eliminating the need to maintain local database systems at each institution.

Release 6.2.06: Specify Fala em Português

The Specify Project is delighted to announce the fruit of a collaboration among collections scientists in Portugal, Brasil, and the United States--Specify speaks Portuguese. In a joint effort, we translated the Specify user interface and database schema to Portuguese and cleared a path for additional language versions of Specify software. If you are interested in working with us to translate Specify to a different language, let us know.
